steriods again

So i have Uc I was having a flare up was in major pain losing alot of blood was spending most of my day on the loo... which isn't good with 2 young children.

I called my specialist nurse who advised me to go on steriods and if the symptoms haven't got better in 72 hrs ill have to be admitted into hospital.

Well I'm waiting for the prescription to be ready to be picked up from my doctor...

It's been 3 days I've now on the other way I can't go to the toilet and the pain is unbearable... I can barely move and i'm constantly in tears.

I don't kno what to do... shall I call my doc and say my symptoms haven't improved although I haven't been on steriods and say I'm unable to go.

I'm due back at work tonite and have to say I'm dreading it.. and I love my job. Feel so alone and don't know who to turn to..

Poor you. I'm feeling rather angry for you that the doctors have taken the mick sorting out your meds. Truthfully you need to go A&E sweetie. Like NOW!

When you are better please please have a massive go at your gp practice for letting you down and also let your nurse know so she can do the same.

Please don't feel bad about your children. My mother in law told me year ago "you cannot look after them if you do not look after yourself "

So be a good girl and a good mummy and get yourself sorted.

P's sorry to be bossy and get better soon

    Sending love xxx

This is just my opinion! But I think you need to start the steroid now! It won't fix things immediately but it will calm down the flare up and give you an overall feeling of well-being. When my UC flares, I take a steroid for 4 week period, slowly weaning myself off. 7 days at 4 a day, 7 days at 3 a day, 7 days at 2 a day and 7 days at 1 a day. Works for me! See your GP urgently, believe me I've been there!

Hi , I recommend eating plain natural yoghurt when on steroids. It lines your tummy protecting it and also preventing the munchies. If you cannot bare the taste add a little honey x

When on steroid, I often get quite chesty and a painful stomach. Not nice! However, to have the relief from my uc I'll put up with anything! I use olbas oil inhaler, and chew on  Rennies.  Symptoms pass when I come off the steroid. I don't like taking a steroid at all, I worry about my immune system, but I worry about taking so many drugs indefinitely anyway. there really is no answer but just to experiment and find what works for you!  Anyone out there suffering peripheral neuropathy as a side effect of the anti inflammatory drugs? I'd like to hear of how you're dealing with that !
