STI or just bacterial infection? (Woman)

I have had unprotected sex recently, but was not informed of any STI's. (in a relationship so an STI would indicate cheating on the other person's behalf)
A day or two after, my vagina started feeling itchy and somewhat dry?
I would try to avoid touching it but sometimes of the friction from my clothes would help the feeling.
I have had bacterial infections in the past, and this has felt very similar. Only difference is that there are some white spots around my vagina. They look similar to canker sores so I wonder if its just from the friction Ive been putting on the area.
Lately my discharge has been..milky with a slight yellow tint (not super yellow but its not completely white) and the texture isnt clumpy/sticky
Im unsure how to approach this. Are their any other symptoms that could suggest genital herpes?

a picture would help but multiple canker like sores sounds like herpes but could be something else. do you have any other symptoms?

I feel like these sores have to be from the friction/itching/scratching but im terrified.

I have genital herpes and I noticed the same thing on my first outbreak. I would get it checked just to be sure. My symptoms were dryness (inside and out), little white bumps and 2 spots that looked like razor cuts, irritation and milky discharge (but I also had yeast infection so it could've been that or combo of the two). Definitely get checked to be sure

My picture is still waiting to be approved but I went to the doctor today and he took one look and immediately ordered a blood test. Ill update again once I get results but I think we all know what the doctor was thinking 😦

update! i just got the phone call back and im clean!!!!! so i think the sores were just from scratching it .... kinda embarrassed to say that but im glad i dont have it

I'm sure you didnt mean anything by it but you shouldn't say 'clean' instead of negative.
People who test positive aren't dirty and it can be hurtful to see that.

also I'm really not trying to be a downer but you said your dr ordered a blood test instead of a swab. Blood tests for herpes are notoriously inaccurate, which is one reason its not standard in std tests. Also, if this is your first outbreak and you recently contracted herpes, you wouldnt have enough antibodies to show up in a blood test. It takes 2-3 months after exposure.
Sorry! Again, I dont want to be a downer and you likely dont have it...but just be aware that false negatives are more common than you'd think. especially if you test too soon. If they come back, get to the dr immediately and demand a swab test. Or do another blood test in 3 months. Ok im done lecturing, just wanted to put the info out there. best of luck!
