Stick or increase?

I started taking 37.5mg twice a day for 3 weeks and noticed improvements like being snapped out of worrying thoughts. I then increased and Ive been on 150mg of immediate release Venlafaxine for 3 weeks and 2 days. I split the dose and have 75mg in the am and 75mg in the pm. I've had all the side effects under the sun but stuck with them and however I feel better than 3 weeks ago I'm still noticing that every time I take a tablet I'm different. Sometimes my inner critic disappears, sometimes I'm tired, sometimes I have a foggy head, sometimes I have heightened anxiety and still having throat spasms etc... Everyday am and pm isn't the same.

My stomach still feels very emotionally raw but yesterday morning I felt strength in my stomach for the first time in ages but then in the evening it was anxious again and today. There is no consistency.

Any advice on if this is a sign I should increase again or stick at the 150mg and hope the tabs level out?

    Hi James,

I didn't do too well on instant release. Had an eight month battle to get modified release (they are more expensive) and have felt better on modified release. Took over eight weeks but finally kicking in. My opinion is see if your doctor will give you the slopw release. That's just my opinion though so see what other people think

I am 20 days into 150mg and am the same. Every day is different. I feel I am improving too. I plan to stay on this for at Leadt 6 weeks.

Thanks for your replys, I think I will stay on them for 6 weeks and then either increase to 225mg or switch to modified release.
