Sticking out bone in wrist

I noticed two days ago that a bone (or something sharp and hard) is sticking out of the bone in my wrist. I’m not sure what the bone is called sorry, but it’s the one at the side, kind of underneath your thumb. I can’t remember an event or accident where I might have injured it, however, being the clumsy ooff that I am, I do tend to wack my hands/wrists on door frames an awful lot. It aches now and again which I’m guessing has something to do with this. Does anyone know what this could be? Is it a fracture of some sort or something else? I’m booked to see the GP this Wednesday.

Did you ever figure out what this is? I noticed this on my wrist yesterday.

Yes I went to see my GP - I have an eight month little boy and apparently it was due to carrying him around and putting strain on the tendon in my wrist. So it had gone hard. Don’t know what the pointy bit was though, whether that’s part of the tendon? But if I pressed the same area on the other wrist it was soft, whereas the one with the sharp/hard bit wasn’t. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your quick response. I have a 2 month old and developed tendinitis during pregnancy, so I’m sure it’s related. It just caught me off guard since it’s never been pointy like that before. Thanks again!
