Stiff ankle

Hello. I broke my ankle 12/24/17. I had a trimollear fracture. I am about 9 months into my fracture. I now can walk, but only with orthopedic shoes. Sneakers only. But when I go to sleep and wake up, my foot is so stiff. I'm so happy to be walking again with no pain. But wondering, will I ever be at 100 percent again?

the stiffness is normal but it’s the rehabbing  and excecising the ankle that going to loosen your ankle. 49yrs old broken ankle in 3 places, dislocated, 2 plates, 7 screws July 21/2017 . I’m running 3 miles 4 times a week with any problems whatsoever. I had to work threw the swelling and the stiffness by continuing to rehabilitating ankle

I broke mine in December 2017 too. Also trimal fracture. I find that if i do ankle circles before getting out of bed that it helps tremendously w/ the stiffness. Also soaking in Epson salt/warm water helps. Keep moving. That's the important part. The less I walk, the more it hurts to walk.

I had talo navicular fusion on 1.6.18 and am now in a boot and hoping next week to be in normal shoes. My ankle has been stiff too and as the others on here, if I dont use it it stiffens. The more I use it the more flexible and painless it is! Keep going!
