I have had a stiff back/ neck after sitting too long or waking up in the morning. when I am up and active for a while the pain seems to go away, does anyone know why this is? am I lacking a vitamin?

Hi Sarah, You don't say your age but, you could benefit from doing regular stretching to keep your whole body toned, specific back & neck exercises online or from your DR, maybe massage before bed and heat on your neck and back before bed and/or in the morning before you get up....if you do a lot of sitting at work, good posture no slouching, standing to stretch or walk when you can, move your neck, and your legs, too....if you do a lot of bending or lifting be sure to use your legs to lift, keep back straight, wear a lifting belt or get help....if you are over 35ish you could have minor arthritis already, OTC anti-inflammatories can help(ibuprofen, naproxen etc)..tylenol does have pain killing properties but NOT anti--inflammatory, only good for temp. use...(taken with food, to avoid stomach upset), always ask your DR first before using ANY medication, there is topical Diclofenac(Voltaren) it is an oral RX anti-inflammatory made into a gel, you can use it often and not through your digestive system...if you talk to your DR, and give these a try it may help, if you have shooting pain, tingling, numbness, sharp pain, muscle spasms and etc, you should go in...Hope you're BACK to NECKING in no time(sorry that was bad...was supposed to be funny...I am bad sometimes) Seriously...feel better soon!!BEST WISHES💒🐾🎶💞🍀☮🌈♾
