Stiff fingers and wrists

Re:polymyalgia ...my main complaint is that my wrists and fingers are really stiff.

my GP gave me one blood test which came back clear !

I took steroids for just 5 days and felt

fantastic but I have tried to avoid going back on the steroids because of the side effects.

Symptoms returned but not as bad as originally.

As I mentioned above , I have stiff fingers and wrists and the muscles in my arms ache but that is a huge improvement in that I have no pelvic or hip pain as I had before.

Yes I use Epsom Salts but I have no idea if they are really helping as I find it difficult to pin point which of the remedies I am using are the most effective ( think: vitamins, diet, exercise)....

Damp weather exacerbates the problem .

I wish I knew how to alleviate the fingers and wrists pain and annoyingly, I have a knot in my back !

Something else to at least try is to buy one of the wrist-thumb braces you can get at most drug stores. Try it on one hand and then if it works, either get another one. The one I have is reversable. It made a big difference for me and make sure to wear it at night.

I typed quite a long message and then forgot to save it while I sent you a PM with details of two items that helped me. Both were recommended by the OT to whom my GP referred me when my OA pain came back after I stopped taking steroids ( this was not all bad as my PMR had gone into and stayed in remission. ) Happy to answer any further questions.

Hello, Can you message me what two items helped you with the pain in your hand. My husband has been having the same problem. Thanks
