Stiffness 18mths after TKR

I had my 2nd knee replacement in March 2018 and although i never healed as well as my first one on the other knee in Nov 2015, it healed well and all was good.

2 weeks ago i developed a tightness stiffness and a heavy feeling in the most recent replacememt. Has anyone had this 18mths following a tkr when initally all was fine.

Im off for an xray this morning and feeling very scared.

Sorry., but I can relate. Had my TKR Jan. 2018 and it HAS NEVER FELT RIGHT OR QUIT HURTING... had a scope done Oct. 2018, and am having a third surgery on this same knee soon. surgeon isn't quite sure what' he's going to do , yet. Depends on if I have infection or not. He drew fluid from behind my knee other day, and it stakes two weeks for the culture to grow, or not.....

Hi Shona. I can empathise as I have developed severe stiffness in my 1st TKR as a result of walking incorrectly since my right ankle and forefoot also developed severe osteoarthritis. I have not been able to maintain a normal gait and bend my knee fully when walking due to foot pain . My Ortho Surgeon told me that scar tissue has developed in and around the TKR which has no flexibility hence causing severe stiffness. Unfortunately he didn't offer any solutions to fix the knee and to concentrate on the foot and ankle problems as a priority.

Good luck with finding a solution
