I've been on Pred for 5 years too (had to up it a month ago to 6mg because of bad blood results).

Memory obviously gets weaker as you grow older, when you forget words/things, etc you worry - when you forget the same things in your 30s or 40s you just shake your head and 'normally' remember.  So be it!  I'm 78 so of course I forget things.  Does your husband never forget things/doesn't hear so well (when it suits him)?😀

I`ve had PMR nearly 6 years and yes, I`m the same....forgetful, and my husband doesn't understand lots of the symptoms of it....when he`s awkward....I forget to cook!wink

My memory is atrocious but it's almost all on trying to remember words. I have mentioned this to my GP a few times and he has just pooh-poohed it. I have suffered from chronic pain for nearly 13 years and have been on opiates for over 7 years so I attribute most of my memory problems with taking all of the drugs that I take and the pain that I'm in constantly. I just hope it doesn't get worse. I'll be 56 next month and I just am afraid that it'll only get worse as I age.

I have a lot of support from family and friends and that helps a lot. And after so many years you learn it's just part of your life. You get a system going and things just keep moving on. I thought I was doing fairly well because I had a good pain management doctor, until I got hit with PMR. And that sent me into a tailspin.
