Hello! I have exactly the same symptoms!!! It all stars with disordered and chaotic vision, weird feelings in head and suddenly a huge wave of fear hits my body! It all takes only few seconds! And these last days I had deja vu also!!! It happens to me sometimes even several times a day! It's very scary! I'm also very scared that I have epilepsy, because I have read too much about it and it fits!!! Now I'm waiting for EEG results, but what makes me more anxious it the fact that this kind of epilepsy is hard to diagnose...I'm very very scared!!!

Please, what tests have you had and what doctors told to you???

hi juffy i have had all the tests mri, blood tests, eeg etc.. but this was years ago and it all came back normal. emailed my neurologist three days ago and he came back saying it is definately not a seizure it is anxiety but i still feel like its seizures from what i have read. why do these episodes happen when i am not anxious too? why does it only last seconds too. do i believe the neurologist or get a second opinion?

p.s. i am also recovering from glandula fever too

It sounds like you're just experiencing a panic attack? When I had panic attacks I will feel totally fine and then suddenly I will feel this overwhelming fear and it feels like I'm dying. Then my heart starts to race, I get light headed, nauseas, and sometimes I start sweating a lot too. Lasts about 10 min maybe and then it gradually goes away. But even after I still have this lingering, on-edge feeling for a while.

I would believe your neurologist. My friend actually had a brain tumor a few years ago, and was experiencing seizures from it, and she said when she had an actual seizure she didn't even know it was happening. It's like you completely pass out and she would just wake up later in the hospital confused, asking what happened. That doesn't sound like what you are experiencing at all, as you said you are fully awake and are aware of all these symptoms you get.

Also, experiencing the physical symptoms without feeling anxious is very common. My therapist calls this a "subconcious anxiety". Even though you may not mentally feel anxious, your body is still in an anxious/tense state and that's why you get the physical symptoms still. I have this all the time too.

You could always get a 2nd opinion, but I really think this is just anxiety. You had a lot of diff tests now and everything was normal, so I think you need to accept that you're suffering from anxiety and need to seek help for it. I always highly recommend talking to a therapist, it really helps me with my anxiety a lot.

Hi philly just these feelings will not go. everyday i wake up again with this weird fear feeling washing over me and adrenaline rushes. i find it worse when i am out around people because when it comes on it makes me feel dreamlike and i get weird rushes through my body. i get the weirdest cloudy vision too. these can happen about 50 times a day almost like its constantly their. how can this be a panic attack? its constant and only lasts seconds at a time. when will it go? i have tried to relax but it wont go

What you described sounds 100% like a panic attack.

According to WebMd, The most common panic attack symptoms are:

      1. "Racing" heart and/or heart palpitations.
      2. Feeling weak, faint, or dizzy.
      3. Tingling or numbness in the hands and fingers.
      4. Sense of terror, or impending doom or death.
      5. Feeling sweaty or having chills.
      6. Chest pains.
      7. Breathing difficulties.
      8. Feeling a loss of control.
      9. Blurred Vision, seeing "spots"
      10. Headache
      11. Nausea
      12. Trembling/Shaking

Does this not sound exactly like what you're experiencing? Maybe you don't have all of the symptoms above, but all of the ones you described are on that list!

It's rather remarkable what your mind can to do you body, sometimes good things but then like this, sometimes bad =/ I've seen so many people on here saying the same thing, "but it can't be a panic attack - panic attacks can't cause symptoms this severe?" And unfortunately that is FAR from the truth. I can personally attest to that lol.

For ex: my friend who is an EMT tells me all the time that the majority of 911 calls they get for heart attacks, and other serious conditions, end up just being anxiety/panic attacks. That right there tells you how severe anxiety symptoms can be!

I highly recommend doing some google on anxiety and panic disorder, I bet you if will sound like what you're going through right now. I see a therapist for my anxiety and it helps me a lot. That may be a good idea for you also!
