I am 28days post op so just a week behind you. Very occasionally I get groin pain, usually to the left as had that side replacement, and usually like you in the night so it interupted my sleep. I found putting a pillow under both knees helped quite a bit, and I've wrapped a hot water bottle in a soft cloth and put that on the groin. Not getting pain in the groin very much now.
Also if like me you are not very good at taking tablets do try and keep on top of the pain as this will make you feel more like doing a few exercises. I only take a couple of paracetamol a day now usually after teatime when I start to feel a bit whacked.
Hope this helps it's not pleasant having that nagging pain is it?
Take care you're well on the way.

Im 42days post THR and still get groin pain, although not as severe as in the first 2 weeks.
This is my 2nd THR in a year, and if the previous op is anything to go by it can take up to 6 months to be totally pain free.
Try and stay positive, it will get better eventually, you just have to get through those first three horrible months..each of us recovers at a different rate, and don't get disheartened by the faster recovery of other lucky people.
A year from now you'll be so glad you had the op,honestly.

Ultrasound does not use magnets , they can just use a wand over the body part you want visualized . If there are no imaging studies beyond X-ray then you r kind of at a hard place. If the bones are good then you have likely got soft tissue problems ie,muscles, tendons, nerves, ligaments, excessive scarring. The keloid tissue build up in a joint can interfere with proper function of the joint. Have you been seeing any kind of physical therapist?they can be a big help and give feedback to your doctor.
I wish you well and for pain relief soon.
