Still have dry mouth 2 weeks after submandibular gland removal...

Hello all,

Just over 2 weeks ago I had my right submandibular gland removed due to chronic sialadenitis (infection of the gland). Before I had it removed, I had dry mouth for a few weeks previous along with pain and swelling. But now I am 2 weeks post op and my mouth is still so dry. Why is this when I have so many other salivary glands in my mouth? It's driving me to depression and anxiety, worrying that I'm going to have to live with this extreme discomfort forever and worrying about the knock on effects of dry mouth. My surgeon says give it time, but I am consumed with this. Does anyone have any experience with it?

Many thanks.
