Still have UTI discomfort after antibiotics

I'm on my 3rd UTI in 6 months. I just finished my prescription of Bactrim for 3 days this morning and I still feel discomfort. It's not unbearable, just uncomfortable. It's mostly just burning when I'm siting, it comes and goes. It doesn't hurt when I pee. For my past UTI infections, I was given Bactrim as well for 3 days. It cleared up the infections perfectly. For some reason this time I feel like it's not working? Have I already developed resistance to it? Or will it start to work a little while after I finish them? I'm not sure if I should go to the doctor yet and just wait it out to see if it goes away. Alongside I've been taking D-Mannose and cranberry supplements so I'm hoping that will clear up whatever is left.

It's unusual to have burning from just sitting and no burning when voiding.  Are you sure you have a UTI? How was it diagnosed?   Usually Bactrim is prescribed for 7 days by my doctors.  I've never found it to work on me.

I saw an NP today and she said it might be a vaginal infection because of the burning so she did an exam. Will know results within 3-5 days. She also did a dip test and showed that I still had a UTI and prescribed Macrobid to take for a week. Now we wait!

This is  a must do situation whereby you must see a specialist and the right one at that! There must be a urologist that is caring enough to go through the clinical procedures to evaluate your problem. While some infections can be difficult to resolve it is possible if you are keen with whoever is caring for you.

be forceful enough to let them know you mean business.
