Still having shakes and nausea after upping my dose of Lexapro from 17.5 to 20mg.

As of today it’s almost been a year on lexapro starting at 2.5 mg. On August 1 st I went to 20mg wasn’t doing bad that 6 weeks into it I started with these internal shakes and severe nausea. My neck was cramping up on me everyday. So much tension neck and shoulders. I changed pillows to see if that was my problem. Still those neck ache and headaches wouldn’t subside. Is this normal to be in 7 or 8 weeks in to med increase and still getting side effects. Why can theses med be easy, take it and we’re done?  Maybe this med isn’t for me? I hate having to titrate off to another drug. It takes so long and the body and mind take a beaten.

How are you doing now, Andrew? Are you still having issues?

?I think it is possible to still have side effects 7/8/9 weeks in. I'd probably give it until you reach 12 weeks....and then consider switching to something else, if you are still having problems.

Hey Kelly, thanks for the info. My dr. just put me on buspar 2.5 mg for shakes. But I'm hoping my sad thoughts go away soon. That feeling of emptiness and why I'm here feeling. I've got a great life I just want to enjoy it with my wife and kids. Go to bed every night satified that I had a good day and tomorrow will be better. Not worring if I'm going to get a good night sleep. Or if I'm going to be up tossing all night in bed. I ask GOD every night to help and protect me. Thank you for your reply.
