Still in pain!

I'm at a week and a half past my 2nd surgery with thoracic decompression surgery. This time the nerve pain is insane. Usually gets very bad in the evenings and its like lightning bolts shooting from my jaw, my neck, under my armpit, down my forearm and into my hand. Nothing seems to help it. Tried heat and cold and nothing works. Anyone have bad nerve pain after? How long did it last? I don't remembering it being this intense the last time.

I don't think they will give me one yet. I know with my last one it was a good 7 months before I noticed the nerves really feeling better. But this time it seems to be intense and a lot of numbness and pain in my jaw and neck. That didn't happen the last time. But I see the surgeon on Tuesday so hopefully he can shed some light on this pain level.

I still have pain occassionally but it's been about a year since surgery. I will recommend you take something for nerve pain, either Gabapentin or Lyrica. I take Lyrica 200mg 3x daily, it's the ONLY thing helps with nerve pain. Gabapentin gave me a Gaba-hangover which I couldn't take on top of all my other problems. Honestly, gaining strength back in my arm, back, shoulders etc has done wonders for me. I started out with PT but I've been on my own for awhile. PT is good idea to get started with, asap.
