18 months on escitalopram and having bad mood swings and lots of anger
It’s been a 18 month roller coaster I’d say out of all that time I’ve had more down days than up it’s just worrying me now as my mood swings are so bad every day and anger is as well my girl friend says she’s had enough don’t get me wrong I’ve had some good days but not many I don’t laugh no more or smile and that’s just not me .
Any advice

Hi Don, I was on this medication for only 10 weeks and I had an adverse reaction in that my anxiety worsened. But many people on this site really have benefited from escitalopram and would tell you (me) to just be patient because it takes several weeks to reach the therapeutic level in your brain. First, what dose are you on, and for how long at that dose? Second, have you talked to your doctor about this?
You might find you need an increase in dosage, or decrease... You might be on too high of a dose.
And lastly, you might need a different SSRI. We're not doctors here, but we have all gotten good advice from each other.
Hang in there! Take care and breathe!!!

Hi there. Don't give up!! I too was on 20. Not a good dose or drug for me. There are so many options for you, even a combination of medications. Have you tried exercise, meditation, prayer, etc? I walk my lab a lot and I pray even more. I find tons of comfort in going to church and being active there. Keep looking for answers, Don, they're out there!!!
