Still side effects?

Posted , 6 users are following.

I've been om citalopram for three weeks now for anxiety. First 10mg for a week and a half and then 20mg for a week and a half. After going to 20mg I started to feel better, not cured of course but calmer. Over the weekend I felt almost normal, more in control than before.

But today I'm terrible again. I never suffered with panic attacks but today I've felt like a panic attack is just about to come on. I get almost intense waves of what I can only describe as fear. I'm also on my monthly cycle at the moment.

Does this sound like side effects, even after starting to improve? I'm trying very hard to be patient as I know recover is slow...

Thanks as always for all the support

I'm still feeling pretty terrible with frequent feelings of intense fear/panic and my arms burning. Is this side effects or is my anxiety getting worse?

it is side effects .remember ssri magnified anxiety in the beginning stages.

Hey marketta! Hope you feeling better.

    I started celexa 20 mg since Feb 13 .

    Its been about 10 weeks.

I have been feeling anxiety and get side effects still.

I still have panicky feelings daily with bad muscular tension.

I went to a store today and felt very anxious and have some as i type this.

Mornings are tough too to get going with all this. I have been getting down about this lately as well .

My doc wants to up the dose to 30 mg but im torn on that as people say not to do it.

What do you do when you get these anxious feelings?

    Be well !

Im five weeks in on the upped dose of 30mg. Im still not sure increasing was a wise choice, but am going to try and stick with it for 12 weeks and reassess. What helps me when Im having the bad anxiety is laying down and doing deep breathing. Try to clear my mind and tell myself I am strong and will get through it. Sounds silly, but it works for me. I also see a therapist once or twice a week and those sessions help me tremendously.

I am having a hard time doing things daily.

I lay around a lot which i hate.

I try to get out from time to time but struggle.

My therapist thinks im getting worse depression and anxiety .

perhaps if your doctor prescribe a benzo it would be much easier for you to cope with the side effects.

Hey Lois! Arent benzos tough to take everyday? They are hard to come off of and addictive properties.

I struggle everyday to function from mornings are terrible until evenings .

I guess i need something to function.

Did you go out alot during your time on celexa? How was your lifestyle?

My lifestyle has been bad feeling like this over my head everyday. I dread it.

Hey Lois i went down to 10 mg from 20 mg. Im kinda getting tired of this med and feeling this way. I am thinking of getting off this stuff .

    Is that a decent dose?

How did you know celexa started working when on benzos?

The doc also mentioned something about cymbalta.

    Thanks!

ten is a good dose it did it for me.the benzo only relief the dreadful side effects.as the side effects wore off so did my desire of the benzo also wore off.cymbalta is n snri.i took that for 12days .the withdrawals from snri are worst than any ssri.just saying.i had brain zaps from the cymbalta for six months.
