Hi guys,

So I overdosed with alcohol on a night out and did not end well ended up in A&E and had some sort of fit/seizure. My advise do not drink whilst on sertraline if you cannot handle alcohol. I keep gettin suidial thoughts wanting to cut does anyone feel like this? I'm on a 3 month waiting list with the hospital and no one understands me. I feel like this is the end and I'm not sure of sertraline is making it worse, maybe I should up the dose? Any advice?

18 year old seeking for help😪

I would takk to your doctor, tell him you want off. Ween yourself off of it. If ur still suicidal i would go to the hospital. I have been off it for about a month and i still dont feel normal. Ive beeen extremely depressed, ive had bad anxiety.  I feel like im going crazy. I wish i would hhave never went on it.

I was only on it for 18 days and i abruptly stopped which i shouldnt have and i have bewn feeling terrible ever since. One thing that helped me out was reading everyone elses experience on this website and talking tto people. It kept me calm to a certain extent. This sh*t  made me lose all interests in my GF aand everyone else. You just ggot to stay strong and get to the docttors. See a therapist thats what im doing now.

Tricky call re sertraline... It can have negative effects in younger people. Go back to your doctor tomorrow. Do not act on these thoughts; if you feel like you are going to, be brave, and go to the hospital. The doctors can, and will help. Promise.

I have been on sertraline twice in my life and both times at 2 weeks in I was back at the docs feeling dreadful with major anxiety awful thoughts etc but after 4-6 weeks I start noticing huge improvement and now at 7 weeks Wednesday I am back to myself.  No more thoughts and I am happy to get up each day and enjoy life again.   Try to stick with it a bit longer ... It does take a while to work in your body.

As for alcohol I avoid completely until settled on the meds and on Friday had a christmas party at work and had lots of Toblerone Cocktails lol.   Felt fine and the next day was great to just the normal hangover lol....

As for the cutting and suicidal thoughts did the doc give you another medication to calm you down whilst adjusting to sertraline?  It can really help if you have something else for a few weeks whilst you adjust.   Please keep going and come on here to talk if you need an ear we are all hear to listen.
