Alexander, you sound very concerned about your health and I'm sorry it's so scary for you.  First of all did your doctor run any tests?

there are so many muscles around the neck that sometimes can get super sensitive, sore and even painful. My neck got really bad from sitting at the computer for many years. I had severe pain. That doesn't mean you have something really serious. Did your doctor give you any ideas like applying moist heat to the area or any neck exercises? I get that same feeling because I have tense neck muscles,  I get really bad pain in that area. And used heat and do neck stretches. If your doctor didn't offer any suggestions call him or her and ask what you can do for the pain.

One thing to be aware of is that our mind is  a very powerful thing and  tend to go to the negative if we let it.

keep in mind that FEAR  stands for false evidence appearing real.

don't do what I did. I wasted 20 years of my life worrying about symptoms I had and I thought I had horrible diseases. I never developed anything because all my symptoms were related to stress and anxiety but I didn't know that at the time.

even neck pain can be related to anxiety as it is for me.

worst thing you can do like I did is to sit around and think and think. That will make you way more anxious. Get active and stay busy. If you  your doctor says you are fine now you have to move her head and deal with the anxiety. I highly recommend speaking with a counselor you feel comfortable with. They see this every day and have the tools to help you overcome this horrible feeling. I keep going even when I feel better it's like a lifeline.

you deserve to have peace of mind in a happy life. The worry in tears and anxiety are only going to make you feel worse. There are great meditative audios that are free online dealing with negative thinking  and anxiety. You can find them on YouTube. They really helped me.

You're a fighter for yourself! Remember anxiety can easily Conquer a  person if they don't fight back.   you will be fine Alexander so dry up those tears! biggrin

Hi thank you for replying. The doctors took blood work and an xray of my neck they said it was perfect. And yes the heating pads did not work on my neck. And the pain is persistent therefore scaring me daily i can't get it out of my head

Neck pain is a very common thing and typically is not a symptom of cancer. There is a much much higher chance that your pain is  muscle related.

Something was there the x-ray would have shown it.

I play saxophone at school and guitar for about a year. I try hard to avoid using my neck. It's weird because 5 months ago i suddenly got bad neck pain. It's not my spine or any of that its at the base of my skull inside those muscles and feels very deep. I tried using a different pillow and sleeping on my back but nothin seems to work.

Have you seen those long cylinder shaped pillows? I was having so much trouble with sore muscles etc. A friend told me of this pillow that she said she felt helped her more than any chiropractor did. I'm trying to remember the name. You get fitted for it. If you are interested, I can run upstairs and check the brand. I simply love it. Supports the neck while sleeping.

You are riddled with anxiety and fear.  Do you have a therapist? Really might be very useful for you to vent all your thoughts and concerns and have someome work with you on how to dissmantle the negative ones. Dbt or cbt, but dbt is better. Health anxiety is ocd with your body. Check, check and checking some more then ruminating in every ache or pain. There are tons of helpful workbooks, book, skill to be learned, meds if needed, yoga..etc..it would be so helpful to build yourself a goto toolkit to have when these thoughts start overwhelming you. Fear trumps trust that is why  so important to be in therapy.

Even hearing this is all healthy anxiety/ocd wont suddenly comfort younor makemit stop. The majot issue once ocd takes hold is the constant need for reassurance, but never trusting it. Its a viscious useless cycle.

your body is so tired alexander. Prayer is good. Therapy is needed. And id say add in massages. Nail spas are very reasonable on pricing for massages. Your tensed and stressed muscles would love a massage.btw crying is a great release for the body. It lowers the stress levels.

this can be manageable with the right care and you do not have to walk thru life in a constant state of despair. But change is needed. You are not alone in all this. Change is needed. Your body and your mind are asking you to make changes so listen to that.  If you leaned on a body part alot. Eventually it feels weird, numb, hurts..etc..so the only way to correct it is to stop leaning on it right? Even at first when you move a little that body part will feel awful for a little then slowly be able to self correct right? Eventually it would recover. And know habit will make you lean on it many more times without realizing it. But if you refuse or cant stop leaning on it, or wont accept or realize you do it cant heal. .. or you can't stop leaning on it you need someone or something to help you. Thats kind of what you are doing. Change is needed.

Thank you very much. It is very challenging for me and i see why my body feels tired and drained daily. I notice every little thing about my body and it takes it's tole because it fills my mind with pretty bad thoughts. I will try yoga.

Yes The base of the skull and very deep  I have it too.    I can't begin to tell you how many people I know that have the exact thing.

It is definitely not a sign of cancer.

People I know have had this for years and years for various reasons. Some people get it from too much computer work or their neck is in one position for too long.

It can be very painful! , I have friends who get it from sports activity and straining, and I'm sure you could also get it from the position of your neck when you played the  musical instrument.

The neck area and shoulder muscles are very prone to muscle strain  and pain. . What helps me a lot is going to get a massage it relieves it at least for a while.

I think my pillow was part of the reason that made mine worse. So you see there are so many possible different reasons for your symptom .  Don't allow yourself to go to the negative because what  I mention here are far more reasonable reasons you have this.
