I am 11 days post op (laparoscopy) and still have stitches, should be dissolvable, how long should they be left?
I wasn't advised of this on leaving hospital....

I had a Laposcope done a few years back, I had stitches by bellybutton & low down on
right side, when I was discharged I was told
not to get stitches wet for first week by day
14 the bellybutton had started to dissolve
& the low down one disappeared without me
noticing. By day 18 I was worried about the stitch left so I saw my GP & he pulled it out & I didn't feel a thing, he said it was just
tightly tied off. I wouldn't worry unless you
find any discharge or redness.
Loads of Luck.
