Stitches sticking to cast?

Posted , 2 users are following.

i had surgery last Tuesday on my ankle. what was supposed to be 2 hours turned to 4.5 and she had to fix 7 micro tears on 2 ligaments on the outside of the ankle, a full tear on a tendon on the outside part and anchor that back by using surgical buttons, took out all calcified scar tissue between my tibia and fibula (caused them to separate) anchored them together using pins, debulked 2 muscles in either side of my ankle because the muscle belly was too low, and scraped all my tendons and ligaments free of scar tissue. I've been in a boot for a year. well today, it feels like my stitches are sticking to my cast. is that normal? do i need to call and get it checked early? i go in Thursday for a dressing change. any help or advice is lovely.

Goodness Molly, that sounds like a bit of an epic! mine took six hours for the replacement of a failing

As regards to your stitches I thought that most stitches were self absorbing these but may be yours were not.

Hope you have reassuring news tomorrow.

    All the very best, Richard
