Yeeeeessssss! I have been having diarrhea for over a week. It started the day after reducing from 60mg to 40mg. I have taken imodium 4 different days and it stopped it only to come back. I sent an email to the Rheumy but she didn't address that. I had some other issues and she is working on getting those ironed out.

HI Eileen
So sweet of you to ask and to remember. not great news. I now have lymphocyctic colitis. Another auto-immune. It is not a terrible colitis if you have to have colitis. My BM's have actually gone back to normal. So I hope this inflammation will not return any time soon. For some reason I think it is from nuts. I was not eating nuts when it
became normal and the the other day I had a problem after i had nuts. Not terrible but it made me think what did I eat even tho my Dr.
said this has nothing to do with diet and i can eat whatever I want. If it does he wants to put me on a 2nd steroid. Imagine that, having to take 2 different steroids. Talking to an holistic lady tomorrow night. Not sure what to do. Any advice out there. Thanks

I found a very interesting website. I think it will be approved so will post here, but if not will private message.
https://www.niddk.nih.gov/health-information/health-topics/digestive-diseases/microscopic-colitis/Pages/facts.aspx
You'll note that prednisone is one of the medications used in treatment Also that dietary changes may be recommended by the doctor.

At least you have a "label" and it isn't anything really nasty!
Funny your doctor said that - I found
"Diet and activity
Patients should avoid or eliminate possible secretagogues, such as caffeine, and, when appropriate, lactose-containing products. A low-fat diet is advisable if steatorrhea is documented."
and the Mayo says:
"Changes to your diet may help relieve diarrhea that you experience with microscopic colitis. Try to:
- Drink plenty of fluids. Water is best, but fluids with added sodium and potassium (electrolytes) may help as well. Try drinking broth or watered-down fruit juice. Avoid beverages that are high in sugar or sorbitol or contain alcohol or caffeine, such as coffee, tea and colas, which may aggravate your symptoms.
- Choose soft, easy-to-digest foods. These include applesauce, bananas, melons and rice. Avoid high-fiber foods such as beans and nuts, and eat only well-cooked vegetables. If you feel as though your symptoms are improving, slowly add high-fiber foods back to your diet.
- Eat several small meals rather than a few large meals. Spacing meals throughout the day may ease diarrhea.
- Avoid irritating foods. Stay away from spicy, fatty or fried foods and any other foods that make your symptoms worse.
So obviously diet IS factor for some!.
