Stomach ache and burning

Hi,

Does anyone suffer a burning stomach in the morning, I've been suffering for several weeks now. I wake up and feel fine but as soon as I move the burning starts. It usually last a couple of hours then passes.

This happens everyday. I have been tested for HPylori and this was negative.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi Mark. The pains you saying seems like you have a gluten intolerance. Try to get an allergy test. I know a close relative who got these symptoms for 2years and they did all the tests in hospital but didn't find the problem with diahrrea and burning. Last resort was to do an allergy test and they found out it's the bread that's making it worse. Coeliac disease can make you have loose motions everytime you eat . Try that . Hope it helps.

Thanks all for your support through all this. I did start thinking an intolerance of some sort. What I find really odd about this is when I'm not moving about, standing walking the normal things I feel quite ok. However when I move the dull discomfort starts above the belly button. It is really weird because it is persistent and does not get worse or better it is permanent. When I woke up this morning and felt great, then I got out of bed and the burning and growling starts in my stomach. I had breakfast which was 2 hard boiled eggs and 2 toast. Within 15/20 mins the pain got worse and I was dashing to the toilet again. Excuse the pun, but it's a proper pain in the bum.

I haven't had a scope yet but think that will be my next step if these bloods, stool, urine samples are clear.

Sounds familiar. I started getting burning sensations around Easter 2015...these would last 2-3 weeks on and off. I had s similar bought in 2004 but nothing since this time. Well it's been over a year and numerous visits to the doctors I have almost come to accept I have IBS. I have been up and down like a yo yo. When I have no symptoms I am on top of the world but when I have a flare up I am so low. It almost cost me my marriage as my wife was so fed up. I have had ultrasound and was all clear. I was always very active but have almost had to give up a lot of my fitness regime. When I have a flare up all food seems disgusting. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I am currently using strong pro biotics and aloe Vera. Have had 3-4 really good weeks but on the odd occasion it comes back for a day or two for no reason. I find it comes on when I am excitable about an event coming on which in turn makes me anxious as I think I will have a flare up during this time. It's a vicious circle. I have heard that mild anti depressants work as they calm you down. Don't really want to go down that route but if it helps maybe I will have to.

Yes this is also starting to impact on my marriage also. All the get up and go I had has now disappeared. The phycological factors are are as bad if not worse than the actual illness.

keep a food diary and see what is causing the the burning by eliminating foods gradually

Still no results from the doctor about my blood test. Feel I in a bad place at the moment. For 4 weeks I have suffered everyday without a break from the burning stomach the diaherra the middle back pain. It's making me really depressed and having a huge impact on my quality of life.

Does anyone suffer constantly like this or is it just me? Would be interested to know.

If I relax in bed or on the sofa etc I am fine, as soon as I move about the upper stomach starts bloating the middle upper back ache starts

I was like that for 6 weeks until I had to go to a&we and they found an infection in my bowels, was causing all the upper tummy pain and constant running to the toilet, I'm gradually getting better, I was kept in and given intravenous anti biotics for over two weeks, so my answer to you is if it is that's bad phone go to see if results are back explain how bad your feeling if they don't do anything go to a&e

Well back from Doctor and all test clear. Totally puzzled now. The only slight raise was my liver but that was expected due to me having NAFLD. All my other results, thyroid, Amylase pancreas, white red blood cells, glucose, protein, lipids etc are all normal. I am quite shocked as well because they are better results than my last ones 3 month ago. These results show my Cholesterol has dropped and my blood sugars are stable.

Now I'm beginning to think is this all in my head?

There are some conditions that dont show on standard tests, the immune conditions particularly it seems, there are many with them whove had symptoms for a long time and had blood tests xrays, scans, all showed negative clear and nothing found, and lived with that for months or years before finally getting diagnoses, it took my years to get diagnoses for intersticial cystitus, as for some with fibromyalgia, cfs, lupus, others even more uncomon l expect.l know yours is mainly gastric type symptoms, but people with the above conditions do  get gastric disturbances. Worth reading up on symptoms to see if any fits.

Think if symptoms also persist when doing something you enjoy or socialising often shows if its phycalogical or physical, all l,m saying is if it carries on and is affecting your life badly , or if meds for phycalogical make no difference. dont take it for granted its phycalogical, sometimes takes a long time to get diagnses.

Thanks Lynne. It's ironic you should mention lupus because my dad had that. When I've mentioned it to my Doctor he looks at me like I'm stupid. I always thought Lupus was genetic. I also did think a blood test would have highlighted this?

My doctor has always said I am a carbon copy of my father. Yet all he seems interested in is cholesterol diabetes and high blood pressure. These are the main problems my dad suffered with.

I'm really on a downward spiral at the present. My life is affected everyday without a break for the last 4 weeks and although not getting better its not getting worse either. There is no break from it unless I'm resting and sleeping.

Been there due to sever delibitating nausea worse on movement, only break was sat quietly or sleeping, not much of a lifestyle.  Now battling wth fatigue aches and pains, not as bad as constant miserable nausea, but stilll debiitating and restricing, l see rheumatologist in a couple of weeks, speculation fibromyalgia, think these immune condiitons really difficult to diagnose, have you seen gastroenterologist or had scope, l think scopes best way to diagnose showed l,d gastritus, years earlier intersticial cysitus after suffering symptoms years with gps dismissing it. if youvve not see gastro ask to see one, if you can afford it pay for it  as it will be quicker, try nexium gaviscon, plain diet, read up on fibro, lupus, they do usually get a rash with lupus, but dont think thats definite. So many of us on mbs with symptoms that are causing suffering and restrictions on lifestyle to a drastic extent, and struggling to get a diagnoses, you wonder, l do, why couldnt l get common problems that are easy to diagnose. Keep battling, push to see specialist, best wishes.

Not had a scope done yet, I have tried to take omperazole but they do nothing neither does nexium. I went for a walk earlier with my wife and our dog. The walk was less than a mile, all day since I have been physically and mentally exhausted, not to exaggerate but my wife had to take the dog because I did not have the energy to hold the dog on the lead. Now considering my blood test came back yesterday all clear makes me wonder if this is all in my head. Physically it certainly does not feel psychological.

Seeing as most of your symptoms are based around you stomach sounds like you need to see gastroenterologist as soon as you can. best wishes

That should be a weight of your mind, however you do sometimes feel deflated, because symptoms are still there, hope you get better soon
