Stomach feels awful!!

I feel like my stomach is being twisted? Is this normal? Im really bloated but it's the time of the month in a couple of days so got that to contend with too! I'm not constipated or have diarrhoea. My stool is slightly mushy. I have IBS but don't tend usually to be this bad! My Gp doesn't quite know what to say. I've had bloods all normal & stool sample fine too! Is it related to IBS? Or is it something else?

It sounds more like you being too conscious of your body's natural functions. If you're bloated, perhaps it's because of a particular thing you've either eaten or drunk. It could also be because of anxiety leading to air swallow and consequently bloating. Consider relaxing your mind. But I hope you feel better.

Sounds like IBS which can cause the twisting sensation in your gut.  Periods make IBS worse and IBS can vary in intensity from flare up to flare up.

I agree with Pippa, And You can just observe, Once your period starts, Is it getting better with that? Lets say within 1 or 2 days of your period begins...Then you can say that might be because of Ibs which is triggered by hormonal changes during pre menstrual period.

Hi Kate, it is easier twice a month when ovulating and when I"m due on to do something like yoga for me as the relaxation helps with the IBS symptoms. The period pain I just put up with. I now take evening primrose daily it's helps with my mood and hormone levels, as I"m 45 almost. Look after you and you could ask your doctor to double check your bowel is OK, something could have altered, we're not medicalvexperts none of us. I hope you get the answers you need.
