Stomach Infection left untreated....

I have recently posted in another dicussion to do with stomachs so just wondering what people on this dicussion think.

I had pain under my right rib/upper stomach for YEARS. Never thought anything of it, went to doctors in october last year, was told I had a urine infection - but no change. Did a stool sample and turns out I have a stomach infection (which was the cause of pain for many years) was given medication for it, still no change, still get really bad pains.

I feel the doctors aren't taking my pain seriously. They told me I should still get pain after finishing the tablets, however I don't see how when the tablets are suppose to help?

However, they have now taken blood tests for problems with my liver, kidney or pancreas.

I had these pains for years (not knowing I had a stomach infection) so I'm wondering because I left it untreated for so long that it maybe has developed into something more serious? I am getting blood in my toilet every time I go now.

If my blood tests come back negative then I am still going to be unhappy as I have no answer to where my pain is coming from.

I wondering if it would be worth while going to a hospital and asking for other tests/check ups?

Can I please have someones advice on this.
