Stomach issues

Hi. I'm 52 and recently had some spotting aftwr a year and a half of no periods. I had a pelvic and am scheduled for a pelvic ultrasound next week. I'm scared enough by that, but I have been having diarrhea for over a month. At first it was just lose stools. It went away for several days but came back last week this time with severe abdominal cramping. I went to the gp who ran blood work. My white cells are on the high side of normal. Poop test not back. Meanwhile she basically gave me no guidance other than to say that I am overdue for colonoscopy. I am feeling overwhelmed and want to just get the ultrasound under my belt. Anyone have stomach issues with menopause. I feel like I'm walking a tight rope here. I can't really take much more. It's like I turned 52 and I'm falling apart. I am in constant distress with my digestive tract and worried to death about the upcoming tests. I have family coming into town today and just don't know how I'm going to get through this.

Finally got an appointment with a gi specialist. He set me up with a colonoscopy in Sept. I think that office is a colonoscopy factory. He was very dismissive of my symptoms. Gave me ibs, colitis etc. In preparing for the appointment I wrote down all my mwds and suppliment. That is when I realized I had just finished a course of antibiotics for a sinus infection 10 days before this nightmare started. I think I have c diff bacterial infection. He said I looked too healthy. Too healthy I have felt like crap for two months. I work and I sleep. I insisted that he order the tests. When I got to the lab I was told the doctor have me the wrong containers but one of them would probably work. Argh. I am getting the results and finding another doctor. Canceling my colonoscopy there too. They made me feel like a hysterical banchie

Mary, I just read a report and told by my doctor that colonscopy's are dangerous. Don't set yourself up for such a procedure if you don't have too.  Get some probiotics for your stomach and see if you can cure it that way unless something else is going on. Doctors know when a person looks sick, if you don't look sick chances are whatever you have is a mild case of it. Look for alternatives with otc's that can cure whatever it is that's bothering you. I had a similar issue came out to be that I had fibroids and cysts that were causing my issue while I thought it was gastrointestinal. I would suggest you get a hold of your gynecologist and talk to them about your symptoms what you need is CT Scan to see what is causing the pain. I hope this helps.

Colonscopy is a  very hard procedure on the body, some people die from it. Be careful!

I had a pelvic ultrasound. They found 2 tiny fibroids that are too small to be causing my issues. Unfortunately, being lactose intollerant, probiotucs and I do not get alon . I'm still l [king for some relied. I have had 5 to 6 episodes of watery diarrhea every day for 2 months. Stomach cramping and nausea. I get up every morning and think I just have to get through this. No way to live.

I was lactose intolerant as well, I got some pills to cure it, with so many ways to cure things I'm surprise you haven't gone looking for a pill that will nip that bud away. Start looking and stop feeling sorry for yourself. The only way to cure this is if you put some effort into finding a probiotic that will help your stomach. Which since I was lactose intolerant I found a probiotic that cured that issue along with watery diaahrea. Go to your health food store and start looking.

Did some reading in the colonoscopy. Yikes. I really hadn't known how dangerous they are. More injuries and deaths than colon center. It seems it's a $$ Maxine for the health industry. That's the way I felt at the doctors. By the time o wrote the check for my Co pay, they had me scheduled, printed the instructions and seent the people to my pharmacy. I was told I was the " first" that day. I got the feeling they were annoyed when I asked questions. Man, gotta get a new dr.

I dont know why they keep deleting my post, it is a very dangerous procedure. Your diaahrea is a simple fix, it's nothing of a big deal everytime i post what it is they delete it. I would message you but i dont see a new message button anywhere.

C diff sounds like a definite possibility! You don't have to look sick. That's crazy! My dad is 89 years old and he just got over it. We ended up in the ER one night and they kept him. Turned out to be c diff. He didn't look sick and really didn't feel bad except for the diarrhea. That can be treated so definitely find a new doctor.
