STRUGGLING WITH STOMACH - need food ideas please

Memimck1Memimck1 a few seconds ago 0 Replies

My stomach literally hates me it flares up and feels incredible I'll if I eat too much or if I eat anything to heavy or not bland. I literally live on small amounts of rice pop cereal shortbread farleys baby biscuits yogurt and potato.

I need help in what I can eat as I'm so underweight so wondering if people could give me things they eat when flared up, specifically at dinner

How is everyone with things like rice, pasta and noodles?

What about foods such as birds eye fish fingers, birds eye chicken nuggets and birds eye potato waffles?? Are these ok do you think or not?

Specific brands welcome.

Please HELP!!!!

I’m exactly the same, do you suffer with more diarrhoea? I tend to just stick to plain foods and more carbs, or just don’t eat at all knowing it won’t affect me if I’m going out or doing something . Iv started keeping a food diary and noticed red meat seems to affect me so I’m going to try cut that out . But other than that I just use Imodium to battle through sad

No I suffer more from constipation but everyday is similarly a struggle... I can't not eat as my weight is already dangerously low I just don't know what to do.

What foods and meals do you specifically eat??

My advice is to avoid ALL pre prepared and packaged foods!! Most are likely to contain food triggers. You really do need to identify your food triggers, assuming you have them, then you know which foods to avoid. The best way to determine if you have food triggers, and what they are, is by following the Low Fodmap diet. In my case, anything other than a tiny amount of gluten, all onions, mushrooms, garlic, and anything with a high fibre or high fat content will wreak havoc. If gluten does prove to be a trigger for you, you can buy several GF foods such as fish fingers, pizza etc, but certain brands of tomato ketchup, even GF products,  will contain onions; so step 1 is to identify triggers and step 2 is to scrutinise ingredients list of everything that you buy.

I happen to be fine with rice and GF pasta, but some people with IBS aren’t. Everyone is different. There is no reason why you can’t have a varied and nutritious diet, but there is no quick fix.

    Good luck.

The best thing to try is a food diary to identify your own triggers because everyone is different.  I have no IBS food triggers but what I would suggest is to try cooking bland foods from scratch and avoid processed foods which have preservatives in them.
