Stomach issues possibly relating to pancreas

Over the past year I have been dealing with unexplained weight loss, severe stomach pain episodes with vomiting and back pain. I have gone through many tests including a colonoscopy with biopsies, endoscopy with biopsies, mri of the small bowel, CT scan of the abdomen, tuberculosis tests, tested for HIV and still my specialist can't find what the diagnosis could be. Today I have had my third episode of what i would describe as an attack where my stomach pain is so bad i am bed bound, vomiting and have back pain.

All the tests mentioned above haven't shown anything to be concerned about except for a test measuring the level of elastase found in my stool which was supposedly very low (38ug out of 1000ug) to be exact. indicating possible pancreatic insufficiency. When i last spoke to my doctor about this it was brushed to one side and was not taken seriously. Therefore i am now undergoing blood tests to measure the lipase and amalyse levels to see if they are also low. I'm really not sure where to turn to i'm beginning to feel incredibly ground down and stressed because i can't get to the bottom of this. Has anyone else here been through something similar and have any advice or words of wisdom? my doctors really don't seem to be taking this seriously and i can't see myself being able to cope much longer like this as these episodes are becoming more frequent and painful to deal with.

I would really push your gp to be referred to pancreas specialist. such a low elastase result means you are potentially suffering malabsorption and potential deficiencies in certain minerals and vitamins.

you should not leave that untreated

    good luck
