Hi Allicia isn't it strange that when you go to see your GP, the ones who are supposed to be helping you, grimace when you walk through the door. I recently moved and HAD to change my doctor and I hate going to the the new one. She makes me feel unwelcome and like I am wasting her time!!!!!!

Hi Ingrid - it's fairly common for fibro sufferers to also develop IBS, which may or may not account for your tummy aches.  Please however get it checked out to be safe.  Your stomach pains are almost certainly due to bowel issues, which may be something relatively harmless but very uncomfortable, like IBS or mild collitis but also may be due to something more serious and needing quick intervention in order to improve.  Please check with your doctor.

oops sorry, I think I misread your post.  By the look of it you already have had tests regarding the stomach pains.  Sorry if I misunderstood.  If nothing can be found, its very verylikely to be irritable bowel syndrome.  You'll need to try to figure out what triggers it, eg certain foods, stress, and so on.  Anti spasmodic meds are good for IBS flare ups - things like Colpermin, Buscopan, Colofac, in some of which the active ingredient is hyoscine butylbromide or alternatively, such as colpermin, peppermint oil.  You can buy all of these over the counter in the UK but do check with your doctor if you are taking any other meds which may have contra indications.

Hi , just wondering , do you take codeine for your fibro ? Or something that is codeine based? Many people are allergic to it I for one get really bad stomach pains from it on the other hand my daughter gets terrible headaches .

good point Sylvia, I had to stop taking codeine because of the horrible stomach issues it caused - constipation, pain, cramps, the works.

Hi Ingrid I am sorry read you are suffering.

Basically, a rule I live by, which the Rhutamoidologist told me was "if it's a muscle or a price of Tissue, Fybro is going to affect it"

Obviously this will be different for each and every one of us but I hope it helps you.

    Shaz x
