Stomach Pains

Hi,

I was doasgnosed with IBS about 9 years ago & since then I have had a food intolerance test. So I have cut out all of the things that cause me discomfort. Although for the most part I have been okay. Every so often I still get stomach pains, back pains, bloating & feeling sick.

It does affect my day to day life because, I am doubled up in pain so I can just about manage work then nothing much else for the rest of the day which isn't me as I like to be on the go.

I keep googling my symtoms & yet I get the same results, does anyone else find that even after cutting stuff out of their diet that they still get the same symptoms?

Any advice for me?

Thanks

Yes.  I’ve cut out a lot, just to be safe & just eat certain things once in awhile.  The symptoms can come out of the blue no matter what I eat or drink.  If things get severe, I let my GI know; if on & off, I update him at regular appts.  A med has helped me with diarrhea but sometimes even that kicks up, even on the med.

You may have other unidentified food triggers that are causing the problem or stress could also be the trigger.   I have no IBS food problems; stress is the only culprit for me.  Have you tried Low Fodmap?

I get a rumbling tummy caused I suppose by Diet and medications. Generally I can be a bad boy and not follow the diet pathway in its entirety  then I suffer. When I get the associated wind I look at the dog and blame him.

One of the worse things you can do is Google illness, keep away from those pages. If you have questions call your Doctor, make a list of your worry and fears and gain encouragement  from the professional instead of Google, Google will make you unhappy.

Everyone makes a mess of their diet every now and then, we are human, you have problems see the man in the white coat

Have you tried an antispasmodic like Buscopan? You can also ask your doctor for one if Buscopan doesn’t work. Sometimes, dietary change alone is not enough to manage IBS; medication is often helpful for random flare ups.  Don’t google your symptoms because you will get bad health anxiety from this.

Exactly same things happen, stress takes a toll on my IBS, cutting food has helped but not so much
