Stomach ulcer and high CEA levels. Please help!

Posted , 4 users are following.

I'm pretty terrified, went to docs with high stomach discomfort and burping and while I'm referred urgently for an endoscope my bloods are showing 6.7 CEA levels. Read everything I can, but has anyone had their CEA done or at this level and had no serious illness, doc says the cut off for even a healthy smoker is 5 but I'm praying the possible ulcer is raising its

Desperate for someone else with A higher reading to tell me their experience.

Thanks everyone x

Hope everything goes well with you, i will pray for you. I will have my endoscopy on the 1st of April. Been suffering for abdominal pain since november nausea and weakness. I had CBC last february 4 and all are normal even the CEA level expect from i have hpylori and low hemoglobin. I also had gallstones on the gallbladder and had surgery last Feb 24, but after that operation i stil have symptoms.

I know loads of people who still have symptoms after gall bladder removal! How odd is that?

My iron is very high which is confusing them but so heliobacter in the stomach which is hopefully good!

I have a procedure on the 1st!! It's the biopsy one but I was already seeing him anyway before this started! Will be thinking of you too!!

I'm fed up so going for maximum sedation for my endoscope and other camera going up! Having them done at the same time, hope he checks gallbladder as I get pains slightly off to the right of my rib cage too!

Wish I had this all checked sooner but until I felt the gnawing of what might be an ulcer I ignored all other lower pains and changes in habits!

Although doc says he will eat his hat if it's anything sinister despite the CEA reading!!

Good luck and thanks for the reply!! X

Have my appointment for camera into stomach and bowels end of May. Getting heavily sedated as having both done at once! Will keep you all posted. Xx
