Stomach Ulcer, GERD, Barrett's Esophagus cause fatigue?

About 2 months ago I presented symptoms in line with a stomach flu, but it never cleared up entirely. In follow up I saw a Gastroenterologist who performed and endoscopy. I've been diagnosed with 2 stomach ulcers (in the cardia portion of the stomach, and not caused by H-Pylori), as well as GERD, which has caused Barrett's esophagus. The Gastroenterologist put me on Nexium, which has helped with symptoms. However, I'm still having a lot of fatigue and really struggle to exercise. I'm a competetive fencer and usually work out a lot, and have much more energy than I have at present. I've asked the doctor if the ulcers could be causing the fatigue and he says no.

Has anyone else with any of these conditions experienced a lack of energy as a result?

Thanks,

MIke

Hi MIke. Try Spatone from H and B for the lack of energy; it's spring water from north Wales and I've found it very good. For the ulcers, ask your doctor for Donnagel, if it's still available. It cleared mine up in a couple of weeks. Best of luck, Chris

decided to take my thumb just on a whim and see if I could touch the sore that hurts so bad all the time and I feel something. I finally figured it out after 6 years. I think it is an ulcer. I looked up throat ulcers and find the headache, fatigue, sleep apnea are serious complications. i bet they can be of other ulcers too!
