Have you spoken to your doctor? Have you tried a food diary, do you experience shifting abdominal pain? Have you had any recent stress?

Stress can irritate the gut and cause all sorts of problems such as nausea,, bowel habit change and abdominal pain. Some people get mucus in their stools with IBS along with diarrhoea, loose stools or constipation, nausea and abdominal pain. Others get very little to no abdominal pain with IBS but get a lot of bowel habit change.

Diet can also affect the gut so try a food diary to see if a food(s) is the cause, try relaxation therapy and see your doctor since you have had these problems for a month and they are now occurring daily.

what is the significance of pain shifting from one side the other? curious because my husband i both have had this in the past two months. started right side, shifted to left for me, followed by partial bowel blockage and mucus in stools. i have had numerous tests including 2 ER trips, 2 CTS one with contrast, HIDA scan for gallbladder function, complete abdominal ultrasound, pelvic ultrasound, bloodwork 4 times. CTs showed "mild to moderate sigmoid dysfunction and diverticulosis". Earliest appointment to see a GI was October so i made that appointment in May. I do have a history of irritable bowel disease symptoms for 10+ years but undiagnosed, but my husband doesnt.
