miralax is what i was told to use while i had mine. i had my issues for 3 months. the miralax doesnt work like right away it takes a day or two but once it starts as long as your on it you ahould have no problems. you have to make sure you dont take too much you want a good in between so you dont have constipation or diarrhea. i basically ate miralax and oatmeal for the entire 3 months. until it wasnt like hellfire anymore. i stopped using the miralax after that and i just really watch what i eat to avoid diarrhea or constipation.

      thank you will try that.

How much miralax would you take? Would you take it morning or night?

i took half a cap every morning in oatmeal then after the first few days i would have a smooth movement every morning when i woke up. i was afraid to eat anything at all. which is not good because i had a problem with ending up with diarrhea so if your stool gets too soft cut back the amount you use until your going smooth with no straining. i didnt ait on the toilet more than 10 minutes at a time. make sure not to eat anything you know will constipate you or run right through you. i had to stop eating olives because they constipated me. i also could not eat carabbas as it ran right through me. i still dont eat those things lol. they say to eat alot of ceggies and all that but honestly dont over eat. i lived off salami and oatmeal the entire time. the less i used the bathroom the better and i did a lot of hot baths id lay on for about 20 mins at a time. my dr prescribed me diltiazem also.

how long did you take miralax for ?

Do you still have to follow a diet to keep stools soft?

Is your fissure healed now? and how did you heal the fissure?

i took it for 3 months. some fissures can be chronic and some are acute. acute usually heal in a few months chronic tend to be an on going problem. my fissure is healed now and it was healed using miralax sitz baths and diltiazem compound cream. yes i continue to follow dietary restrictions nothing too crazy but i dont eat anything that constipates me i also gave up spicy food even though i love it. a little here and there isnt bad but anything that gives you diarrhea is just as bad for your fissure as being constipated.
