Stoping Fentnyl

I am on day 3 on the Fentnyl 75 I am coming down from 100 

my doctor gave me 4 and leave them on for 72 hours then down to 50 and so on . I feel like the flu , headache, body hurts , I pray it gets better soon .mi have a lot of 100 left so I want to just fold them over when I get to he 50 mcg . How long will I feel like this? 

Thanks for any info . Also my doctor was socked that I told her I want off ...I said after I read everything about Fenthyl I don't feel like it taking my pain away .

    Deb,  after 15 years on this meds and one unsuccessful try to get off I can share this much.  Going Dow 25mcg at a time is too hard for me.  What I have found works well is scotch tape.  I place the tape covering just one eighth at a time for one week.  The cover one quarter of the patch for two patch cycle.  Three eighths on patch five and six and one half on patch seven and eight.  Since you only have four you could try on that scale.  The slower you go the easier for your body to adjust.  I still have some very tired days but no shakes, sweats or stomach pains.  I have went from 125 down to 12 mcg now.  Hopefully in the next month or two I will be completely off.  I found my body was needing it more than my pain level.  However I do see a pain specialist and physical therapist regularly.  It took years to find the right combination to help me deal with my chronic pain.  I pray this will help you.  May God bless!  Susan

      I am gong to try the tape on the 25 so I can lower it slower I only have 8 left I don't want to just stop taking the 25 as my doc thinks will be fine . I have never been so sick . Pray it's over soon . Thanks for telling me about the tape !

    Can I ask how you're doing now? Are you tolerating the withdrawal or are you off altogether? I'm going to be coming off in the fall and plan on doing something similar to what you are....

      Hi I am now no the 25 every 48 hours and I am very ill . I think I want to fast I feel like I have a bad case of the flu . And I can't sleep or eat . 

      Take it slow I have 8 patches left so my last 2 I will fold in half and part I can do it . I am in WY now my doc is in AZ so I have to deal with this on my own . I emailed her and she told me my body is wanting the Fent and to stay strong and I feel real bad go to he ER room . Like I am going to do that and pay $300 I will just be sick . I pray you take it slow don't let them take you down to fast I sure I never got on Fent . Best of luck

      Hang in there hon. You've come so far and hopefully you'll start feeling better soon. I know you have a ways to go and not to put any pressure on you (LOL), but you gotta kick it so you can help me in Oct when I start! 😊. I know you can do this! You are such an encouragement to so many! Just keep thinking you don't want to be a Fent slave ANYMORE and you're stopping ONCE AND FOR ALL!!! Take advantage of things that normally make you comfortable. If Pepto or Compazine keeps nausea away, try it. If you have to go to ER to get suppositories do it! Do ANYTHING you have to do to survive this! Just think - you won't have to worry anymore if the dr is going to write the prescription, if the pharmacy has the patches and all the other hoops we jump through every.single.month. It will be over and it WILL be worth it!!!! I've got your back! So just write and let me know how the fight is going. YOU CAN DO THIS❤️

      i am going to the drug store today to get something for my nausea I will keep you posted and I will be there to help you in the fall I will be there with whatever I can do . I just want is to be over soon .

      See if they have some type of suppository that you can use. Not sure if that exists but you can ask. I get a shot every week that makes me sick and I use Pepto and Compazine. Pepto (in MY experience) either makes it go away OR makes me puke. So either way it doesn't leave me hanging. Keep going Deb. You've got this!

    I was on 35mg and had to stop them immediately I felt really lethargic and just not myself it lasted just under a week.
