Thereafter the breathless feeling used to happen everyday for sometime in mornings and afternoon... i consulted another cardio and he suggested to dicontinue bisoprolol ...i stopped it on 10th Jan...but now after six days of leaving i do feel anxious and breathless with wheezing sometimes during the day....what could be the reason....is it withdrawl symtoms...

Hi - I started taking 1.25mg Bisoprolol morning and night in December 2017. It immediately stopped the benign arrhythmia spasms I was experiencing, but for many months I suffered all manner of side effects, though none that you describe. What I ascribed as side effects were having bouts of ectopic beats, palpitations at night, horrible sensations around my heart and stomach and feeling my heart having all manner of strange muscular convulsions. However, all of that has subsided and most of the time I don't even know I've got a heart. There's no doubt in my mind that one has to allow ones body to adapt to a drug. Bisoprolol 1.25 mg is a low dosage and I would be surprised if it's causing the problems you describe. You need to look at your lifestyle as well and also evaluate your general state of health. This particular drug has worked wonders for me. Importantly, it's reduced my heart rate, lowered my BP and indirectly inspired me to slow down and make a few lifestyle changes. I now have a sense of well-being that I've not experienced for a long time. I'm 73 years old.

I was put on bisoprolol 1.25 Feb 2017 after a svt attack which needed to be put back in hospital, for 10 months I had fuzzy breathing. Bad ectopics , low blood pressure and heartbeat.  My head and chest felt a pressure, I was constantly light headed, I came off cold turkey , now waiting to see a specialist about ablation and check whether I have a fib.  At the moment I feel normal with the odd ectopics which I have had for 40 years. I am 70 years old.

Amit34103, I hear you and sympathise. I started Bisoprolol 1.25mg early January 2018 and just over 7 days ago, woke up one morning with shortness of breath and tightness in my chest and it has been the same breathing issues every morning since.

It was only after many visits to the Doctor, hospital, and emergency room and being put on a nebuliser despite not being an asthmatic, that today I was told it was a reaction to Bisoprolol.

The doctor has advised I stop taking the drug and having been to hell and back the past week, I prefer to put up with the Palps, than struggling to breathe, sitting up all night as I cant sleep and feeling like the living dead.

Good luck and hope all goes well.
