      Hi again Barry

Citalopram is an SSRI, it has lots and lots of side effects.

I would say thqat because it is not a benzo you could stop it but you may get some withdrawal signs and symptoms. You do not say in what way it is already affecting you. Mind my asking you what is happening?

      Hi again Barry

I tried to send u a lik to the side effects of citalopram as there are so many of them and I can understand your concerns and why you wish to stop taking it. Personally I would ask your dr for non drug support. There is a lot of help out there in terms of counselling, psychotherapy, meditation, CBT, Mindfullness, yoga, relaxation.

There is lots of info online too with tapes.

      Take care.

    Dear Barry,

Whenever you want to stop any medicine whatsoever and no matter how long you have been on it it's always important to talk to your acting Physician. Some medicine becomes more abundant in your blood stream faster than other Medicine depending on to many variables to just stop right away. However you are very smart to want to stop taking a benzo medication because they have been known to be addictive and extremely hard to get off of. Please be careful and talk to your doctor for your safety and well-being. But I do wish you only the best of luck and wishes, you're doing a good thing if you think the medicine is not right for you. God bless.

    Ana
