    Hi Mark,

Mirtazapine is commonly used alongside SSRIs and SNRIs, where monotherapy has failed, so I would think it isn't a problem to take both at the same time while you cross-taper.

I've recently started Sertraline, so I can't comment on what the withdrawal is like. People generally find the withdrawal from SNRIs and Mirtazapine harder than SSRIs (such as Sertraline). I took Mirtazapine for 3 months and found the withdrawal harder than Venlafaxine which I was on for 10 years.

My personal experience of Mirtazapine was that it helped with depression but made the physical symptoms of my anxiety bad i.e. I felt restless and jittery. At a low dose 15mg it is more sedating and helps, this effect lessens at higher doses (30mg+).

    All the best,

    Ed
