Strabismus

I have read that Strabismus may cause social and learning disabilities which may be scored on the autism scale. Yet the unanswered question is one cause by the other or are they just similar in nature? Can correction (or life improvement) be afforded by surgery to correct the Strabismus?

Strabismus can be constant or intermittent. The misalignment also might always affect the same eye (unilateral strabismus), or the two eyes may take turns being misaligned (alternating strabismus).
