Strange feeling inside head as I try to sleep

Ok so basically for a while now I've been having these odd symptoms when trying to sleep I'm not even going to touch base on what I think is sleep apnea but I've been having this thing where if I lie on one side too long my head begins to hurt and then as soon as I turn over to the other side it feels much better and I can sleep again. Sometimes this wakes me up multiple times in the night. It almost feels as if there's like a liquid in my head that if on one side too much it hurts till I tip it over and fills to the other side. I know this sounds odd but it's about the best I can explain it. And yeah I've been kinda jerking around in my sleep as well as gasping for air sometimes and i think that's tied in with the medication I'm taking (a benzodiazapine). Could be from whatever this is however. If you have anything to enlighten me it would be appreciated. Thanks for reading.
