Strange itching hands since returning from holiday abroad

Just returned from Majorca and my hands are insanely itchy! Particularly my index finger on each hand, more so on the right hand. I did suffer a lot of mosquito bites while over there so not sure if it could be related? If I scratch the affected area it raises up with bumps as if stung by a nettle.

Currently using an antimicrobial emollient cream and taking antihistamine tablets but this has lasted for a good week with no sign of it stopping.

Any idea what this could be, could it related to the bites somehow? Worth seeing a doctor or just see if it fades over time?

    I think it is unlikely that this is a consequence of mosquito bites because the irritation already seems to be lasting longer than usual.

    It is quite common to get mycosis on the beach, but this doesn't look (at least to me) like any kind of mycosis either.

    Now, the place of irritation makes me wonder if you didn't hold some sea bug/algae that caused you a burn or allergic reaction.

    If it's bothering you too much, you probably should see a dermatologist.
