strange symptoms, any advice please

For about 2 years now ive had a tightness and dull ace in kidney area in the back going around to the front and a nagging pain in right groin hip area. The tight feeling goes away when i sit up the hip pain continues .Doctor didn't really comment on it so was left to get on with it. Forward one year I had to have nasty gallbladder removed and had a lot of antibiotics. I noticed the tightness and hip pain much to my relief had gone and so assumed it must have all been gallbladder related. Afraid not its back! Now I'm thinking did it go away temporarily due to antibiotics. Any help gratefully received.

I have been to the ER twice, as I have the same symptoms from time to time, and they did x-rays and CT scans, with no results. It is still going on, and I know no more than you do. I know that this doesn't help at all, just letting you know that you aren't alone.

Thanks david it helps to know someone else the same and I'm not complaining to the doctor about phantom symptoms!! I was glad when I had my gall bladder removed that all these problems went and thought they must have been related but apparently not ! I have read that kidney stones can cause the tightness around the chest and the hip pain is referred pain but I have no obvious signs to me that kidneys are not working. I think I'll take my finding back to gp when I can get an appointment, that'll make his day :-)

hi, l get simular in nagging pain in lower right  hip going round to groin and lower back  with soreness, with occassional aching twinges nipping feel up to kidney area, but also never given a reason for it, but l do have interesticial cystitus which causes soreness in lower tum and groin, also frequency with that, so l always thought it was an extention of that, with anti bs helping interesticial cystitus symptoms. l,d also had gall bladder removed, not for stones,  but choicylitus, inflammation, seems to me many problems are inflammation and nerves spreading  in the body. l did learn from radiologist at scan my kidneys worked slow,l learn more from hospital staff, pharmacists, and mbs than from docs, mine also still going on, isnt it always for many, so l,m also due another round with gp tomorrow, it wont make their day or mine.  Good luck to all, self included.

Hi lynne, thanks for reply , interesting what you say about the damage done by inflamation, my gallbladder was also in a mess stones, inflamed, enlarged. I also have a imflamation in the rib area that I have had for many years. I do wonder just how much our gps know! I, like you have found answers from hospital nurses and other staff and thought why ever didn't my gp tell me that. Good luck with your appointment today.

hi octavia, l think some of us are prone to allergies immune inflammation, sort of all go together, l over many years before diagnosis of i.c, with severe symptoms, l tried to educate myself, never came up with the eventual diagnosis, scope by urologist did that, but learnt about tcells-thymus we`re born with from mum, and bcells we make bone marrow, not blaming you really mum, but l,m prone to allergies and itus,s, l was lucky with choicylitus gall bladder in easy for me by key hole, no infection for a change, but again many of my probs followed csection 2nd one, some with i.c start following ops, even my gp said about surgeons knife going in and affects, for most ops are life saving and end suffering, but some are left with problems.   But you do wonder about some gp,s, why would radiologist tell me my kidney,s slow, but not doc, he,d know by report, lve had honest info from pharmacists also, worth talking to them also.  l think some docs are clueless or not thorough at least, and some treat you like a child, or maybe dont want you to know something theyve missed and  neglected over a long time, leading to patient suffering or debilitated much longer than needed. l accept they cant know everything and some conditions are rare, i.c. is quite rare, but if your symptoms go on and cause severe pain suffering l think after a few months they should refer you to specialist, but some will leave you to carry on for years, but also learnt youve to be very assertive and not totally trust them to get it right or fob you off with script.

Thats my mini rant about the more hopeless gp,s, scuse monologue,  but now its monday lve to see my gp, detest going, as it happens today a reasonable day, isnt it brilliant when you have a half decent day and can motivate and achieve something, even small things.  l guess you dont have bladder problems as that could be related to your kidney and groin symptoms.  Hope you get answers soon.

Hi lynne, does us good to have a lil rant now and then :-) no, thank goodness no bladder problems. Digestive system seems to be coping ok since gallbladder gone too. I'm just concerned these symptoms have returned. Had blood results today all fine except cholesterol is 6!!!! Oh dear doctor says not always what you eat it can be that you just make it yourself ( how unfortunately not clever is that) . I don't really want to take statins and he said ok so it must be ok i will try to reduce fat even further. Going for ultra sound scan soon, I shall be picking their brains I think. Glad you had a good day, long may it continue.
