Strange thing in stool...

Hi,

This is my first time posting and it's kinda gross so apologies in advance!

I just went for a poop and when I wiped I realised that there was something that hadn't quite finished coming out yet so I looked down and saw something there. I wrapped some tissue around it and pulled, until it eventually came out. The thing was around 15 to 20cm long and maybe 5mm in width. It was flat and smooth and I'm not sure of the colour as it was sort of poop coloured because of where it had been I guess. It was flexible but not soft, I tried to pull a piece apart by holding it at each end with some tissue and it did break, but not easily. It felt kind of plasticky but not really... I'm sorry I can't describe it better - but it was so strange!

I definitely can't recall eating or swallowing anything that looks like this apart from maybe tagliatelle pasta, but surely that would have digested fully?

I know I should book an app to see my GP, but in the meantime I am definitely freaked out! Does anyone have any insight to what this may have been? Any similar experiences? I wish I took a photo but I was so freaked out I flushed it without thinking.

Any comments or advice will be greatly appreciated!

Although most foreign bodies are passed through the digestive tract quite easily and quickly some do get held up . You dont say how old you are. Could this be something you swallowed years ago? If it came out easily with no pain and doesnt happen again, that is probably the answer but if you are at all worried then do see your GP.

Have you had any surgical procedures on your bowel?
