Strange twinges on combined pill

I started the combined pill (cilest) on 9th march which was on the 5th day of my period. I had had a 3 month break from it, but I’ve been on and off it a few times over the last 10 years. This time, after being on it for a week I’ve felt strange pinching-like feeling in my lower abdomen, slightly on the right side. I’ve had it almost continually now for just over a week. I’ve got 2 more pills left in the pack now. Has anyone felt these sort of twinges on the pill? I’m feeling a bit paranoid that it might not have worked and I could be pregnant, but it says that you can start it up to the 5th day of your cycle and be protected straight away, and I had this reconfirmed by a doctor last week.
