Stress fracture?

Posted , 3 users are following.

I’m a dancer and a few months ago I started noticing pain in my foot. I have lots of overuse on it. I googled my symptoms and they said it was a stress fracture. I went running on it and it swelled up a ton. I feel pain when I bend it or walk on it. The doctor said it looked like a strain but that was about a month ago. It seems to have gotten worse, and I believe it’s a stress fracture. I can no longer move my middle toe, and it’s never not super swollen. Should I go back?

That does sound like a stress fracture. Take a break from sports and exercise and get it checked out by a different doctor - they'll probably give you a splint or recommend some stiff shoes to wear until it heals. Even if it isn't a stress fracture they should be able to treat whatever it turns out to be.
