Stress relieving ideas

Thought I'd ask since Ann mentioned on another post, and we can have some ideas from all consolidated here.

I enjoy words by a Eckhart Tolle, live in the now... He also says we are not the pain... And much more, I highly recommend his reading and videos.

However, my ego and conscious takes over and I forget his wise words of living.

oh! I heard a good one...instead of "be happy"... When in pain, yeah, no... But "be Happiness"... Puts another spin on a mind set.

And like Ann...watching uplifting, funny, chick flick movies on comfortable couch!!! wink

On really bad days which I have once in awhile I do sudoku puzzles or watch HGTV which I love.  However the best thing for me is interaction with someone else-it gets my mind off me. And if I get up and move around that also works.  Sometimes I can walk it out.  There is no set rule, whatever works.

Luckily I believe I have found a rheumatologist who understands this problem and is not quick to reduce dose.  20 mg worked for me at first but after yo-yoing twice 20 no longer cut it so now I am on 25mg and feeling better but not perfect.  See him on Tuesday.

Thanks for sharing!  I have heard before that funny movies or anything that makes us laugh is good as it increases the seratonin in our brain which is nature's way of making us happy.

If nothing else, sitting down to watch humerous tv or videos, forces us to sit down and relax which some people find hard to do.  They feel that they are wasting time whereas they are simply taking time to recharge and recuperate from previously over extending themselves.

Good luck to everyone in their journey to remission.  Do whatever helps to make you feel better.

Speaking of funny, those in the States, the TV show Last Comic Standing starts July 22.  The jokes are actually clean and funny!

Linda you also just reminded me of Laughing Yoga... Not sure if it's real, but just laughing for the sake of laughing.  Ha, maybe we can make ourselves laugh for 1 minute, would be funny to do in public!

I love jokes and I love to laugh but Laughing Yoga sounds a bit weird to me.  LOL  I have heard of it before but not sure if I could do it on demand.  smile
