YES!  Omg, yes. I try to keep myself; it could a situation like trying not to get agitated while I drive in traffic or not stress over bills. So, instead of the normal pain meds that doctors/neurologist would prescribe for TN, my PC prescribed propranolol. It reduces your heart rate but it has helped me remain under the threshold that would cause the pain to come. However, if I stress myself beyond that threshold, the pain can still break thru.

Thankyou to all on here who replied. I've been through a very stressful period at work recently & my TN has flared rright up again. my doc said stress can cause it to flare I guess i just wanted confirmation & reassurance from some other people(you guys.)  my doc as increased my anxiety meds as he thinks if i get the anxiety under control the TN will go back to its more "manageable" level it was a couple of wks ago. he said if  i dont start to feel better in a week(anxiety & TN) increase my tegretol slightly, & to see him again if needed re the anxiety. thanks again everyone.

Yes stress can cause a flare up. So can sugar, tomato's or acidy foods or having dental work done, even a cleaning.
