Hi all still suffering abit. Ive got quite alot of stress atm in life. Sorry this sounds abit vulgar but maybe someone has experienced the same thing. I have been waking up in morning and within an hr i have an upset stomach. I have been getting bad stomach pains as well. Also if i eat it seems to go through me quick. Can stress and anxiety really cause digestive issues like this. Thanks all

hi Alex, i experienced this too, stress and anxiety can cause an upset belly, try find some time for yourself and do something relaxing you enjoy. It is also a side effect of Citalopram too which doesn't help.

hope you feel better soon x

It will be your anxiety playing tricks on you, it tries to make you believe your alot more I'll than you are, it is horrible but the side effects should start easing off by 6weeks. I am now in my 9th week and i'm alot better, anxiety is controllable again and i can even go out again. I really hope it starts to get easier for you soon x

i was in a terrible cycle of having an upset stomach! i was anxious my upset stomach was something more serious, which was making my stomach worse! every morning i would have to rush to the toilet as soon as i woke up i was barely sleeping!

I am about 10 weeks in now (7 on 20mgs) and my anxiety has really improved as has my stomach. I think it may be a mix of the side effects lifting and my lower anxiety but things are so much better! Stick with it, i never would have thought the anxiety and medication could affect my body so badly........ but seems like it did!!
