       HI,

I don't have the answer for you but was wondering if the doctor ordered the liquid diet.  I am a nurse and liquid diets can be clear liquid--see thru liquid or full liquid--thicker liquids.  Jello is a clear liquid as is broth.    That's too bad you have to wait so long to hear back from dietician

Just read  you are using shakes so not a clear liquid.    I have crohns and inflammatory arthritis so the diet is a struggle.   Triying to eliminate so many foods and cut down to half a cut of coffee a day.   Hope your liquid diet helps you

Hi, I've been on an exclusively liquid diet (Fortisip) diet for 6 months. I was told that I could drink the occasional black tea / coffee but I choose only to drink water. I know it's tough but if you really want the diet to work - giving your gut a break from caffeine seems entirely sensible. Perhaps get some other flavoured IBD shakes. If you're on module - ask your dietitiat for some samples of Fortisip - there's ton's of flavours.

?My re-introduction diet has milk as one of the first 5-10 things to re-introduce - so sounds like that's a no no on the diet. As for milk substitute - they mostly contain Xantham gum and other thickeners that are known to cause some gastro issues, particularly for those with poor gastro health. Perhaps ask after broth if you'd like something different. It's tough, I know.
