Hi all.

I am sufferer of severe health anxiety. Does anyone else experience stroke like symptoms, i.e. slurred speech, can’t get your words out, tingling left side etc?

Hi. If I have a bad panic or anxiety attack it drains me and my speech is definitely slurred. I also get tingling all over too. These are all common anxiety symptoms that although not dangerous are really frightening

Yes...I was just in the Emergency Room a few weeks ago for all of that. I had a CT of my head and of course they ran labs and did an ekg and checked me out. She said I was fine, not having a stroke. Probably my anxiety but a lot of other things can cause these symptoms. Have you ruled out any vitamin deficiencies? I have anemia and b12 deficiency and both can cause similar neurological symptoms. I also possibly have hashimoto's, thyroid disease, which can cause some of them as well. I'm sure my anxiety plays into it a lot and makes it worse but it could be something else as well. Now all of these things are totally treatable and not the end of the world so I think you should try to relax as much as possible. Get checked out and rule out anything serious and then make sure you are treating your anxiety. Talk to your doctors and psychiatrists and therapists, let them know about your symptoms and findings and ask about what they think your best treatment options are. Best of Luck!!!
